Frequently Asked Questions

How much paper do you receive on a daily basis?
We receive up to 2,500 tonnes of paper every day.

Do you operate paper banks?
Yes. We operate paper bank schemes across the UK in conjunction with many local authorities. Householders can check their local recycling collections to find out how paper and other recyclable materials are collected in their area.

Do you offer a commercial paper recycling service?
No, unfortunately we don’t have a commercial collection service because we can only process the type of paper normally found in the domestic waste stream, such as newspapers and magazines. Businesses and householders using private waste services may also want to understand typical rubbish removal costs before arranging a collection. More.

How many times can a paper fibre be recycled?
Every time a paper fibre goes through the recycling process, it shortens in length. Paper fibres can be recycled on average around seven times before they become too short to make paper. The Confederation of Paper Industries explains how fibres gradually degrade through repeated recycling.

Why don’t you take cardboard?
Cardboard fibres are brown in colour and can be difficult to remove during the fibre-cleaning process.
