Aylesford Newsprint History

By Road

  • Leave the M20 at Junction 4 and take the A228 north towards Rochester.
  • At the first roundabout, turn right into Leybourne Way.
  • Passing Tesco on the right, continue across the next roundabout using the second exit into Bellingham Way, then take the first exit at the following roundabout.
  • At the next roundabout, take the second exit to continue straight on.
  • Follow Bellingham Way to the Aylesford Newsprint gatehouse directly ahead. Kent County Council provides information about local road improvements around M20 Junction 4.
  • Car parking is to the right of the gatehouse.

By Rail

  • Travel from London to West Malling Station. Southeastern manages the station, which has onward transport connections.
  • Taxis are available from the station area.
  • Check current taxi availability and pre-book where necessary.

Visitors travelling from further afield or planning an overnight stay may also want to arrange short-term accommodation before visiting the Aylesford area.

Car Parking

  • Drive to the car park. The entrance barrier will usually lift automatically. If not, use the intercom at the barrier to contact the controlling officer, who will open it.
  • Please park your vehicle in the visitors’ section of the car park.
  • Please sign in with Security at the gatehouse, where you will be directed to the appropriate reception point for your contact within the mill.
  • It is about a five-minute walk from the car park to most key areas on site.

Our mill was a single site in Kent, ideally positioned between London and Dover, enabling the efficient serving of markets in the UK and Continental Europe. Kent remains particularly well connected by road, rail, and cross-Channel routes; Visit Kent provides further information.
