Recycling › The Importance of Recycling

Recycling has now become part of everyday life; all used newspapers, paper, cans, plastic bottles, glass and cardboard go into our recycling boxes and bins, or we take to it to a local recycling centre. This has become a practice benefitting both our environment and the UK economy.

Working with Local Authorities, Waste Management Companies, Paper Merchants and Community Groups, Aylesford Newsprint sources 500,000 tonnes of recovered fibre annually in order to manufacture on average 400,000 tonnes of 100% recycled newsprint. Here at Aylesford we are interested in collecting all grades of paper, with specific emphasis on newspapers, magazines and mixed paper.

Aylesford Newsprint would like to offer their positive reassurance that any materials collected by us will be recycled in the UK. To comply with your duty of care obligations we always welcome visitors to take a mill tour to see our process in operation and to audit our methods of working.

We also offer a comprehensive paper bank collection system suitable for both Local Authorities and businesses which raises money for several charities including the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.

Whatever your requirements, if you would like to arrange a mill tour, or if you feel you would like any further or information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
